Biologist working with the sea and the fishing industry in search of a more sustainable form of aquaculture.
With a degree in biology from Madrid’s Universidad Autónoma, Paloma Carballo is the Head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food’s Department of Fishery Planning and Aquaculture’s Aquaculture Area. She is a member of the National Marine Cultures Advisory Board (JACUMAR) and spokesperson with competent bodies in the autonomous communities on marine and continental issues, and also with other authorities involved in developing the sector.
In her post she works constantly alongside organisations in the sector and with international bodies related to the aquaculture sector such as FAO-GFCM, the NASCO NGO, the OECD etc.
