Jorge Peñate and Luis Martín are two Tenerife-based chefs with an impressive track record in Canarian haute cuisine.
They both won the Regional Absolute Championship of Canarian Chefs in 2014, and came third in the National Championship in Valladolid the following year.In 2019, Jorge Peñate was recognised as the Best Head Chef at the Diario de Avisos Gastronomy Awards.
In 2024, he became head chef at La Terrasse, the Red Level space at the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora, where he has developed a style centred on fish, salted fish, and marine maturation techniques. He has also recently earned a Sol Repsol award.
