Carrie Ruxton is a nutritionist, consultant and health writer working primarily with the food and drink industry.
After graduating in dietetics from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Carrie undertook a major study of children's diets, completing her PhD in 1994. Her findings were published in the British Journal of Nutrition. She then worked as a hospital dietitian and university academic before setting up her consultancy, Nutrition Communications, in 2004.
Over the past 20 years, Carrie has worked with food companies, brands, trade associations and small and medium-sized enterprises around the world on a variety of projects including research management, stakeholder engagement, strategy development, PR campaigns and content dissemination.
Carrie has several areas of research interest, including functional foods, sugar, fruit juices, eggs, children's nutrition and public health messaging, and regularly publishes reviews and articles in academic and trade journals.
