The Great Blue Treasure of the Canary Islands

A journey through the marine ecosystems of the Canary Islands and their role in carbon capture.
We will explore the marine ecosystems of the Canary Islands as a great blue treasure, highlighting their ecological importance and their key role in regulating the global climate. The presentation will cover the processes through which the oceans capture and store carbon, as well as strategies to enhance these mechanisms as a tool against climate change. In addition, it will reflect on the conservation of marine biodiversity and the development of technologies that allow for the sustainable use of ocean resources, reinforcing the ocean’s role as an essential ally for the future of the planet.
